Whether you're a new or returning player to Warhammer, brand new or a veteran, this guide can help you navigate the world of Scenarios in Return of Reckoning.

Joining a Scenario

Click the Scenario button near or on your Minimap to queue. This will glow once successful.

You can join a scenario at any level, including as a brand new character!

To queue for scenarios, look at your Mini Map, then click the Scenario queuer button at the top left.

From here, you can either queue for a specific scenario, or join in for all available scenarios. Once successfully in queue, you'll see a glowing aura behind the scenario button.

Scenario Rules

In every scenario, the first team to reach 500 points wins. Each Scenario can last up to 15 minutes.

Points are awarded for various objectives, and vary by scenario. Killing enemy players, capturing control points, running flags, and holding special items are all examples of mechanics you'll encounter in Scenarios.

Once the scenario is over, you'll receive bonus Experience, Renown, and War Crests based on your team's score. The higher your score, the bigger the bonus!

Scenario Tiers

Scenarios are divided by Tiers in order to balance the playing field of your opponents. Those tiers are:

You can join scenarios solo, or with friends in premade groups.
  • T1: Level 1-15
  • T2/3: Level 16-39
  • T4: Level 40+

Due to level variance, it's very natural to feel overwhelmed if facing an enemy team of much higher levels. This will improve as you rise the ranks, and is likewise balanced in part by an automatic bolster the server provides, which raises your level temporarily within the scenario.*

*Note: There is currently a bug that removes your bolster if you level up during a Scenario. This is being investigated by the team.

Performance Bonuses

The top players from each faction in a Scenario are also given Performance Bonuses.

By earning Top Damage, Healing, Protection, Death Blows, or Objective score, you can earn a bonus War Crest and bonus Renown. You can stack multiple performance bonuses by taking the top score for multiple categories.

War Crest Payout

The amount of War Crests you'll earn per scenario is tied directly to your team's Score, and the Tier you're playing in.

  • Each player will always receive at least 1 War Crest, and an additional War Crest for every 100 points earned.
  • Winning a Scenario will grant at least six War Crests to the victorious side, alongside any performance bonuses.
  • Winning in T2-3 will grant 8 War Crests to the winning side, and T4 will grant 10 War Crests for victory.

Scenario Populations

The maximum population for each scenario is different. A few cap at 6 players per team, most allow 12, and some go all the way to 18+.

Additionally, if players from one faction decline to enter a scenario and the population is stacked too heavily to one side, the scenario will automatically shut down due to imbalance after 60 seconds.

Joining or forming a Premade

While the system will attempt to balance parties, it's very likely you'll eventually be placed in scenarios with less-than-optimal team compositions, e.g.: no healer for your team.

One of the best ways to counter this is to form or join a premade party via the in-game LFG Channel. (By default, /5)

The most common party composition for premade teams is 2-2-2: 2 tanks, 2 healers, and 2 dps. However, you can adjust or change this however you'd like, and queue with a maximum of 6 people as a party.

As with any competitive game, coordination and teamwork go a long way towards securing victory!

Weekend Warfronts

Almost every weekend, players can take part in a special Weekend Warfront. These scenarios feature 50% bonus XP and Renown, and additional tasks listed in your Tome of Knowledge that will grant bonus rewards.

The bonus rewards granted for Weekend Warfronts include Renown Pots(Potion of Acclaim), War Crests, crafting items, and special limited-time Event Slot items that will grant your character additional stats.

Discordant Skirmishes

Players who queue Solo can queue for Discordant Skirmishes, special Scenarios that are also known as PUG Scenarios. Full premades or large organized groups are not allowed to queue for these.

In Discordant Skirmishes, the battlefield where the Scenario takes place will be randomly selected from a number of different Scenarios.

Tip: If possible, coordinate and balance your parties as much as possible when playing in Discordant Skirmishes by ensuring each group has healers, tanks, and DPS to support each other. Hit the white flag button on your minimap to leave and join parties.

Ranked Scenarios

Earn special Triumphant currencies by participating in Ranked Scenarios.

Players looking for more than just a casual dip into the arena can participate in Ranked Scenarios, which feature a unique ruleset and an exclusive currency and rewards. These are the only way to earn Triumphant Insiginias. You can also now use War Crests to buy Triumphant and Victorious sets.
