* To queue for scenarios, either use the incredibly helpful Queue Queuer addon, or click the Scenario queuer button at the top left of your mini map.
Joining a Scenario
* Scenarios have a time limit of 15 minutes.

* Scenarios are score-based up to 500 points. Player kills, holding control points or control objects, capturing control points, or a combination of these contribute to earning points.
You can join a scenario at any level, including as a brand new character!
* Scenarios have a universal resurrection timer with a maximum time of 30s, so each time you hit the Respawn button, it can take anywhere from 1 to 30 seconds to respawn at your warcamp.
* Scenarios have a population cap. Most are capped at 24 players total (two groups per realm). Some scenarios are flagged for 6v6 only, normally on a semi-regular rotation between The Eternal Citadel, Caledor Woods, or Lost Temple of Isha. Other scenarios can hold as many as 18 per side (36 total), like Battle for Praag or Gromril Crossing.
* Scenarios are based on your tier, so you will only be matched with players in your tier. The current tiers are:
** Tier 1: 1-15
** Tier 2/3: 16-30
** Tier 4: 31-40
* To determine the pick-up group scenario, type .pug into the /say channel.
* Note: You will not be able to mount if you pick up a flag, bauble, or other type of object. This is intentional.

Scenario Tiers
Scenarios are divided by Tiers in order to balance the playing field of your opponents. Those tiers are:

*T1: Level 1-15
*T2/3: Level 16-39
*T4: Level 40+

Due to level variance, it's very natural to feel overwhelmed if facing an enemy team of much higher levels. This will improve as you rise through the ranks, and is likewise balanced in part by an automatic bolster the server provides, which raises your level temporarily within the scenario.*

*Note: There is currently a bug that removes your bolster if you level up during a Scenario. This is being investigated by the team.

Performance Bonuses
The top players from each faction in a Scenario are also given Performance Bonuses.

By earning Top Damage, Healing, Protection, Death Blows, or Objective score, you can earn a bonus War Crest and bonus Renown. You can stack multiple performance bonuses by taking the top score for multiple categories.

XP and Renown Rewards
Scenario XP and Renown rewards were reworked in May 2026 to place substantially more emphasis on playing the objective and earning Scenario points.

* Renown awarded from Scenario points was increased significantly.
* XP awarded from Scenario points was increased.
* XP and Renown earned directly from player kills was reduced by 75%.
* Performance medals award XP and Renown in addition to their War Crest reward.
* Longer Scenarios receive a duration bonus to XP, Renown, and War Crest rewards.

This means that capturing objectives, carrying scenario objects, defending control points, and otherwise contributing to the Scenario's score are central to the final payout—not merely accumulating kills.

War Crest Payout
The amount of War Crests you'll earn per scenario is tied directly to your team's Score, and the Tier you're playing in.

*Each player will always receive at least 1 War Crest, and an additional War Crest for every 100 points earned.

*Winning a Scenario will grant at least six War Crests to the victorious side, alongside any performance bonuses.

*Winning in T2-3 will grant 8 War Crests to the winning side, and T4 will grant 10 War Crests for victory.

Scenario Populations
The maximum population for each scenario is different. A few cap at 6 players per team, most allow 12, and some go all the way to 18+.

Additionally, if players from one faction decline to enter a scenario and the population is stacked too heavily to one side, the scenario will automatically shut down due to imbalance after 60 seconds.

Joining or forming a Premade
While the system will attempt to balance parties, it's very likely you'll eventually be placed in scenarios with less-than-optimal team compositions, such as having no healer.

One of the best ways to counter this is to form or join a premade party via the in-game LFG Channel. (By default, /5)

The most common party composition for premade teams is 2-2-2: 2 tanks, 2 healers, and 2 DPS. However, you can adjust or change this however you'd like, and queue with a maximum of 6 people as a party.

As with any competitive game, coordination and teamwork go a long way towards securing victory!

Weekend Warfronts
Almost every weekend, players can take part in a special Weekend Warfront. These scenarios feature 50% bonus XP and Renown, and additional tasks listed in your Tome of Knowledge that will grant bonus rewards.

The bonus rewards granted for Weekend Warfronts include Renown Pots(Potion of Acclaim), War Crests, crafting items, and special limited-time Event Slot items that will grant your character additional stats.
Discordant Skirmishes
Players who queue Solo can queue for Discordant Skirmishes, special Scenarios that are also known as PUG Scenarios. Full premades or large organized groups are not allowed to queue for these.

In Discordant Skirmishes, the battlefield where the Scenario takes place will be randomly selected from a number of different Scenarios.

Tip: If possible, coordinate and balance your parties as much as possible when playing in Discordant Skirmishes by ensuring each group has healers, tanks, and DPS to support each other. Hit the white flag button on your minimap to leave and join parties.

Ranked Scenarios
Ranked Scenarios were disabled when the new Scenario Matchmaker launched in February 2026. The former Ranked system and its seasons are not currently available. Existing Triumphant and Victorious equipment may instead be purchased through their current vendors and currency requirements.

General Scenario Tips
*Communicate strategies or plans by using Scenario chat! You can type /sc to speak to your allied faction within a Scenario.
*If a scenario is going very poorly, you can type
.surrender
to prompt a vote. The vote cannot begin until 7 minutes 30 seconds remain, and a team currently leading on points cannot surrender.
*When respawning in a scenario, it can take anywhere from 1 to 30 seconds to respawn at your warcamp. This will synchronize your respawn with other players, so be sure to push back into the fight as a group!

Latest revision as of 04:02, 29 July 2026

Whether you're a new or returning player to Warhammer, brand new or a veteran, this guide can help you navigate the world of Scenarios in Return of Reckoning.

Joining a Scenario

Click the Scenario button near or on your Minimap to queue. This will glow once successful.

You can join a scenario at any level, including as a brand new character!

To queue for scenarios, look at your minimap, then click the Scenario queue button at the top left.

From here, you can either queue for a specific scenario, or queue for all available scenarios. Once successfully in queue, you'll see a glowing aura behind the scenario button.

Scenario Matchmaker

The Scenario Matchmaker forms teams using the players and groups currently queued.

 • It attempts to give both realms similar numbers of tanks, healers, and damage dealers.
 • Premade groups are prioritized against other premade groups.
 • Players who queue as a role currently needed may receive a Renown bonus.
 • The lobby displays estimated queue times, Weekend Warfronts, and the number of each archetype waiting.
 • A player may blacklist up to three Scenarios. A shared blacklist across an entire group substantially reduces the chance of those Scenarios being selected.

These rules were introduced in February 2026 and may still be constrained by the players available in the queue.

Scenario Rules

In every scenario, the first team to reach 500 points wins. Each scenario can last up to 15 minutes.

Points are awarded for various objectives, and vary by scenario. Killing enemy players, capturing control points, running flags, and holding special items are all examples of mechanics you'll encounter in Scenarios.

Once the scenario is over, you'll receive bonus Experience, Renown, and War Crests based on your team's score. The higher your score, the bigger the bonus!

Scenario Tiers

Scenarios are divided by Tiers in order to balance the playing field of your opponents. Those tiers are:

You can join scenarios solo, or with friends in premade groups.
 • T1: Level 1-15
 • T2/3: Level 16-39
 • T4: Level 40+

 • Renown awarded from Scenario points was increased significantly.
 • XP awarded from Scenario points was increased.
 • XP and Renown earned directly from player kills was reduced by 75%.
 • Performance medals award XP and Renown in addition to their War Crest reward.
 • Longer Scenarios receive a duration bonus to XP, Renown, and War Crest rewards.

 • Each player will always receive at least 1 War Crest, and an additional War Crest for every 100 points earned.
 • Winning a Scenario will grant at least six War Crests to the victorious side, alongside any performance bonuses.
 • Winning in T2-3 will grant 8 War Crests to the winning side, and T4 will grant 10 War Crests for victory.

For the historical change, see Patch Notes 12/02/2026.

General Scenario Tips

 • Communicate strategies or plans by using Scenario chat! You can type /sc to speak to your allied faction within a Scenario.
 • If a scenario is going very poorly, you can type .surrender to prompt a vote. The vote cannot begin until 7 minutes 30 seconds remain, and a team currently leading on points cannot surrender.
 • When respawning in a scenario, it can take anywhere from 1 to 30 seconds to respawn at your warcamp. This will synchronize your respawn with other players, so be sure to push back into the fight as a group!
 • If holding a Flag, Bauble, or special object, you won't be able to mount while in scenarios. This is intentional.
