Character Names

Your Character's First Name:

Your character's First Name is chosen when you create the character.

At level 40, you receive a rename token. To request a name change, enter .changename in say chat while in-game. The Commands page lists the limit as one request per account per month. Relog to choose and apply the new name.

Character names are subject to Return of Reckoning's Terms of Use and can result in severe punishments if found breaching these rules with racist, sexist or morally unacceptable names.

Last Names (Surnames):

A Last Name can be purchased from a vendor and changed later. See Last Name Vendor for known merchant locations.

Inactive Names

The name reservation system can release a character's name after 6 months without logging into that character, followed by an additional grace period of 5 days per Renown Rank. This follows the official 14 February 2025 patch notes.

If the name you're seeking isn't released yet, or is held by an inactive player, be sure to check back every few days or months!

The Killboard shows recorded player kills and deaths. It cannot show when a character last logged in, so missing recent records do not confirm inactivity.
