Pure Talismans are special +25 Talismans that players may acquire and slot into level 40 gear.

How to Acquire Pure Talismans

Pure Talismans grant +25 stats or equivalent, and can be placed into level 40 gear.

Pure Talismans must be picked up from Vendors, and are not crafted using the Talisman Making profession. (However, one of the key ingredients, the +24 Potent Talisman, can be created by this Profession.)

Each vendor is located nearby that city's Soulstone Talisman Vendor. They're named:

  • Altdorf: Fina the Flawless
  • Inevitable City: Pryda the Pure

Pure Talisman Ingredients

Pure Essence requires ingredients from both PvP and PvE.

Earning a Pure Talisman requires a mix of both PvP and moderate-to-high organization PvE content. The needed ingredients are:

  • 1000 War Crests (Earned for PvP kills, RvR Locks, and Scenario battles)
  • 3x Champion's Marks (Earned for Dungeon Speed Runs + Dungeon Hard Mode achievements)
  • 100 Gold

The above three ingredients can be traded to the vendor for a "Pure Essence". Once you have a Pure Essence, the final trade for the Pure Talisman is:

Once you have a Pure Essence, trade it and a +24 (Potent) Talisman of the same type to upgrade it to a +25. Players can also buy, sell, and trade finished Pure Talismans with other players.
  • 1x Pure Essence
  • 1x Potent Talisman (of same type as the +25 you wish to create)

The Vendor will then take both of these ingredients, upgrade your Talisman to a +25 Pure Talisman, and trade it back to you.

Pure Talismans are Tradable

By design, Pure Talismans are unbound and can be traded, mailed, and sold to other players on the Auction House.

This is intentional so that players who might play purely PvP or PvE have additional methods to acquire them, either from friends or for gold.

Tips for Acquiring Ingredients

Q: What's the best way to get War Crests?

A: War Crests can be earned for player kills, Zone locks in RvR, Keep defenses, Fortress Battles, Scenarios, and Weekly Events. Depending on your playstyle and teammates, all of these can be very effective ways to earn them.

Q: How can I acquire more / faster Champion's Marks?

Players may earn 5 Champion's Marks per week from Dungeons, with extras available for completing Achievements or Hard Modes.

A: Each level 40 character on your account may earn up to 5x Champion's Marks per week from weekly Dungeon Speed Run Quests. These are available for:

  • Mount Gunbad (Easy, awards 1)
  • City Dungeons: Crypts or Bilerot Burrow (Moderate, Awards 1)
  • Bastion Stair (Challenging, Awards 1)
  • Lost Vale (Very challenging, awards 2 Marks)

You may also earn Champion's Marks once per character by completing Hard Mode Achievements. These can be found in:

  • Lost Vale (Many bosses have hard mode achievements here, which are listed on the Wiki page)
  • Bastion Stair & Gunbad: Wing Bosses in each of these Dungeons have optional Hard Mode Achievements, most of which also grant a Champion's Mark.

Remember that these Marks are per character, not account, so provided that character also has enough spare War Crests, you may earn additional Pure Essence per week by using alt characters.

The Talisman Making profession and Chapter 22 are both good ways to acquire +24 Talismans to upgrade.

Q: What's the best way to get a +24 Potent Talisman?

A: There are a few guaranteed methods to get a +24 Talisman:

  • First, players may earn a special Talisman Box (Master Artificer's Reliquary) from the Weekly Warfront, or for War Tokens. A player with the Talisman Making profession may use this box and maximum level ingredients to craft a guaranteed +24 Talisman of the fragment type they choose.
  • Second, players may earn randomized +24 Talismans from successful completion of Chapter 22 Raids in the Open-World. These are designed for one warband, and one of the reward options in the PQ bags will contain random +24 Talismans of various types.
  • Third, players may simply buy the +24 Talisman they desire from the Auction House / other players.
    • If you're low on gold, Mount Gunbad is an excellent Gold farm. Many players also farm mobs in the open world to collect Scales for armor potions, or Bat Wings for absorb potions.
