Skaven are creatures born of Warpstone and Chaos. Though often mistaken for a form of Beastman, they are a distinct race unto themselves. Like the vermin they resemble, Skaven thrive in sprawling tunnel-cities beneath the realms of men — always present, yet rarely seen.

To most humans they are nothing more than myth, bogeymen invoked to frighten children. Meanwhile, the Skaven brood and multiply in the darkness, guided by the secretive Council of Thirteen as they plot the downfall of mankind.
