Apprentice Boon

The Apprentice Boon is a consumable item that increases Character XP Gain by 50% for 6 hours.

Acquiring the Item

This item drops exclusively from Rare mobs found on the roads in Tier 1 zones. Those mobs are:

  • Rare Sprite (Order)
  • Lucky Gobbo (Destro)

Only Order players may interact with the Rare Sprite, and only Destro with the Lucky Gobbo. By interacting with the mob, the player will immediately acquire the item and the mob will fall over to begin the respawn timer.

Mob Respawns

The rare mobs which drop these items have a much longer respawn timer than normal. (At least 1-2 hours.)

Advice on using the Apprentice Boon

This item is the polar opposite of the PvE Instructor's Boon, which reduces XP gain in PvE. Generally, players who want to get into the PvP aspects of the game later are recommended to level up their Renown rank and keep this as close to (ideally above) their Character Rank.

This is because once you reach maximum level, you will be placed into Scenarios with players that are up to Renown Rank 80, meaning the gear gap becomes much more considerable than it was at level 39 and below.

If you're a player who doesn't care about this, or wants to level up more quickly to take on Dungeons and see more end-game PvE content, then use of the Apprentice Boon will help you do this.
