Howling Gorge is a tug-of-war fought through the winding canyons of Black Crag. The Oathbearers and the Bloody Sun Boyz battle over a route of capture locations, pushing the front toward the opposing base. Only one location is open at a time, so follow the active objective and move with your realm.

At a glance

Players Time limit Victory score Points per player kill Scenario style
6 to 12 per realm 12 minutes 500 5 Tug of war

How to play

  • The central flag opens one minute after the scenario begins. Watch the objective marker and be ready to move when it becomes active.
  • Capture the active location to push the battle along the route toward the enemy base. Only one location is open at a time.
  • After a location is captured, the next flag opens after a 30-second wait. Use the pause to regroup, heal, and prepare for the next fight.
  • Stay with your team as the front moves. If the enemy takes the active location, contest it and stop their advance.

Scoring

  • Defeating an enemy player awards 5 points.
  • Capturing and holding locations advances the front and contributes to your realm's score.
  • The scenario ends when a realm reaches 500 points or when the 12-minute time limit expires. If time runs out first, the realm with the higher score wins.

Tips for new players

  • Check the objective marker before running out. A closed flag cannot be captured yet.
  • Move as a group when the route advances. A few players left behind can give the other realm an easy capture.
  • During the 30-second wait between locations, regroup near the next objective rather than spreading out across the map.
  • Fight around the active location and help your team capture or defend it. Chasing enemies away from the objective can leave it undefended.

Background

The battle winds through the canyons of Black Crag, where the Oathbearers face the Bloody Sun Boyz. The fighting shifts from one capture location to the next as each side tries to force its way toward the opposing base.
