The Empire is composed of the human descendants of Sigmar, who united the tribes of men at the Battle of Black Fire Pass. After the battle, Sigmar was deified, and his pledge of eternal aid to the Dwarfs still endures. This bond cemented a lasting alliance between the two peoples and laid the foundation for a thriving Empire built upon trade and shared purpose.

Today, the Empire is ruled by Emperor Karl Franz, who governs from the great city-state of Altdorf — the beating heart of mankind’s might and civilization.
