Empire & Chaos Heraldry Shields

Empire & Chaos Heraldry Shields are new cosmetic shields added to the game in the June 2024 update.

These shields represent the Provinces of the Empire and certain factions or symbols of Chaos, and can be worn by Knights and Chosen classes respectively.

14 new cosmetic shields for Empire Knights and 14 new cosmetic shields for Chaos Chosen were created.


Earning the Shields

Players can earn these shields by completing specific quests.

There are two tiers of shields to earn: Silver and Gold.

Silver Shields also have slightly different trim designs.


  • For Silver Tier shields, most are divided into either: RvR, Scenarios, or PvE.
  • For Gold Tier Shields, the quests become more difficult, and may require a mix of tasks.
  • After earning the Silver shield, players who meet certain requirements will be able to take a second quest to upgrade to the Gold trimmed version.


The final two Gold shields are tied to upcoming content, and will become available in the future.

Empire Shields

Heater of Ostermark

  • Task: Complete two Public Quests


Gold Tier:

  • Required Level: 40
  • Required Renown Rank: 50

  • Task: Clear eight Public Quests


Heater of Altdorf

Shield Vendors and paired Tome Unlocks

Equip any new cosmetic shield you earn, so you can get a replacement later should you ever lose it.

When you first acquire a shield, be sure to Equip it like a regular item, which will grant you the associated tome unlock.

This Tome Unlock will allow you to purchase a replacement shield from a special vendor in the Altdorf Library's 2F (Order) or The Inevitable City's Lyceum (Destro).

Just in case you ever destroy the cosmetic appearance on accident, or the item yeets itself into the void, you can always pick up a replacement here for 10 gold (silver) or 20 gold (Gold), as long as you have the associated Tome Unlock.


Please Note: You won't see a pop-up tome unlock like with other unlocks in the game, but it will still grant it. (This is done in order to avoid all other classes seeing unlocks in the Tome they can never achieve.)
