==Overview==
There are many who turn to worship the Chaos gods for the powers they may attain. They think to use the gods for personal gain, but nothing is less true for it is they who are used and cast aside if useless. But there are those that follow Chaos with a deep, fervent faith, pledging themselves to it, body and soul. If they find favour in the eyes of their fickle gods and survive the endless battles and do not turn into [[Chaos Spawn|Spawns]], they may well be rewarded the ultimate gift of daemonhood and turn Daemon Princes.

Daemon Princes retain much of their individuality and independence, making them perhaps more dangerous than other Daemons, but become immortal and mighty beyond human comprehension. In power and form, variation is endless and depends on the god which has granted the Champion its gift. Most are great in stature, wield arcane and magical weapons and have huge wings. Followers of Khorne are often potent warriors, those of Tzeentch cunning spellcasters. Slaanesh Daemon Princes are known for their divine physical beauty and Nurgle gifts them with plague-ridden bodies, bloated and rank, covered in mouldering robes and rusted armour.

Some will enter the Realm of Chaos and serve their gods there, but others command both human and daemon hosts, looking for champions for their master to recruit and reward. Their human followers often see them as demigods and worship them as deities.

For those mortals that seek the favor the Dark Gods, there is no greater gift than the blessing of daemonhood. Only the few mortals whose service to the Ruinous Powers does not end in death or madness may aspire to this goal, and a lucky few among them will be lifted up to stand as princes among the daemons, second only the Greater Daemons themselves.
