Ages ago, a great black Dragon, Azorgaron, and the Dwarf Runelords of old fought for dominance over the lands surrounding Thunder Mountain. Azorgaron was a titan of the Winds, and the Runelords wielded the legendary Anvils of Doom. Their clash shook the mountain to its very core.

Though wounded, the Dragon emerged victorious and withdrew deep into the bowels of Thunder Mountain to recover. There he sleeps still, resting in the Hall of Dreams at the center of the earth.

Azorgaron does not sleep quietly. His dreams echo through the stone, calling to the weak-willed and the fervent alike — giving rise to a fanatical cult devoted to the slumbering wyrm.
