Promise of battle is a quest in Nordland given by Matthias Gelt. You are required to find Ewald and kill five Norse Savages.

Lore Text

Upon receiving from Matthias Gelt:

"Halt! By order of, uh, order of the Order of the Griffon...I, uh, command you into service of the Empire!

Oh, it's you -character name-. Right, right, you´re already under order, apologies. Guess I'm losing myself in this role.

How'd I sound? Official? No, well I'm new to this. I suppose we all are, even that lazy Ewald.I sent himto scout and report back to me on the north, and he hasn´t returned in a day. Not much of a scout I suppose."

Upon returning from Matthias Gelt:

"More Invaders? Ewald´s dead! Dear me. Geert, Rudi and Markus all died fighting off the last of them, or so I had thought.

I suppose this invasion is more than we thought it to be."

Upon completion from Matthias Gelt:

"We haven´t the numbers to deal with whatever darkness lays in New Emskrank. Run if you value your life.

What´s that, they punish deserters, eh? No, I hadn´t heard of that. What do they do? Really? Until it tears off? Then they what? Burn it? Sweet Shallya, no!

Well that doesn´t leave me much choice, now does it?
