Black Fire Basin is a Capture the Flag Scenario fought on the frozen lake in Black Fire Pass. Order and Destruction battle for one shared flag at the center of the lake. Pick it up, carry it to your realm's capture point, and protect the carrier on the way. The longer the flag is carried, the more dangerous the exhaustion becomes, so work with your group to complete the capture quickly.

At a glance

  • Players: 6 to 12 per realm.
  • Time limit: 12 minutes.
  • Winning score: 500 points. The first realm to reach the target wins. If time runs out first, the higher score wins.
  • Scenario type: Capture the Flag, with one shared flag.
  • Player kills: 3 scenario points each.

How to play

Take the flag

The flag starts at the center of the frozen lake. Either realm can pick it up. Once your realm has the flag, escort the carrier to your realm's capture point to score. The flag returns to the center after a successful capture.

Protect the carrier

Stay with the carrier and help clear a path to your capture point. A carrier who runs alone can be caught and stopped before the flag is delivered. If the enemy takes the flag, regroup and focus on bringing it down, then contest the dropped flag.

Watch flag exhaustion

Flag exhaustion becomes more punishing the longer a player carries the flag. The carrier is slowed and takes increased damage, and the effect can eventually snare them. Avoid holding the flag while waiting for a perfect fight. Coordinate a quick push with your group.

Scoring

  • Defeating an enemy player is worth 3 scenario points.
  • Capturing the shared flag awards additional points for your realm.
  • The first realm to reach 500 points wins. If the 12-minute timer ends first, the higher score wins.

Tips for new players

  • Fight for the flag with your group, then escort whoever picks it up.
  • Keep pressure on the enemy team so your carrier can reach the capture point.
  • If an enemy picks up the flag, help your group stop them instead of chasing alone.
  • Do not hold the flag for too long. Exhaustion makes the carrier easier to slow and kill.
  • Check the scenario objective display to see which realm has the flag and where to take it.

Background

Black Fire Basin lies in Black Fire Pass, where Order and Destruction fight across snow and blood-mired ground. The battle centers on a frozen lake and the shared flag contested by both realms.
