Karak Eight Peaks

Karak Eight Peaks is an ancient Dwarf fortress that is occupied by the armies of the Greenskins in Return of Reckoning.

Karak Eight Peaks is the capital city for the armies of the Greenskins in Return of Reckoning.

In Return of Reckoning, Karak Eight Peaks acts as the Greenskin Capital City, and features all the key utilities of The Inevitable City, as well as a number of unique quest lines and special items to earn.

In addition, the Character Bank slots in Karak Eight Peaks function separately from The Inevitable City, allowing players to store more items here should their other bank fill up.

Lore

Originally a Dwarf hold known as Vala-Azril-Ungol, or "Queen of the Silver Depths", Karak Eight Peaks is named after the Eight Mountain Peaks that encircle the area, making it remarkably difficult to attack. The hold fell long ago to an attack by both Skaven and Greenskins.

The Skaven armies spent over a century preparing secret tunnels for their attack, and the Dwarf defenders, who had fallen back into the city following the eruption of nearby Volcanoes and an advancing Greenskin army in the lands outside, were caught off-guard and found themselves surrounded. As Skaven, Goblins, and Orcs assaulted the fortified defenders from tunnels beneath their own fortress, the Dwarfs had nowhere to fall back to, and the great hold fell into the hands of many new Clans and Tribes who claim it and still fight amongst themselves for it to this day.

The Skaven call this fortress "The City of Pillars", and in Return of Reckoning, the armies of the Greenskins continue to fight for complete control with the Skaven found in the Middle Deeps.
