UI Lua API · Auction functions
Version: WAR 1.4.8

Sends an auction house search request to the server.

SendAuctionSearch(minItemLevel, maxItemLevel, career, restrictionType, minTradeSkillLevel, maxTradeSkillLevel, rarity, itemTypes, itemEquipSlots, itemBonuses, itemName, sellerName)

Arguments

minItemLevel
number – Lowest item level.
maxItemLevel
number – Highest item level.
career
number – Career filter.
restrictionType
number – Restriction filter.
minTradeSkillLevel
number – Lowest trade skill level.
maxTradeSkillLevel
number – Highest trade skill level.
rarity
number – Rarity filter.
itemTypes
number-table – Array of item type numbers. May be empty.
itemEquipSlots
number-table – Array of equipment slot numbers. May be empty.
itemBonuses
number-table – Array of bonus numbers. May be empty.
itemName
wstring – Text to search for in item names. L"" for no name filter.
sellerName
wstring – Seller name. L"" for any seller.

Returns

Nothing. The results arrive later from the server.

Details

  • The two item levels are rounded down and clamped to 1–40. If the minimum is 1 or less and the maximum is 40, or if the maximum is below the minimum, both are sent as 0.
  • career, restrictionType and rarity are sent as single bytes (0–255). The trade skill levels are sent as 16-bit numbers.
  • Every entry of the three tables is converted to a number and sent as a single byte. Entries of itemEquipSlots are translated by the client before sending.
  • Each call increases a client-side search counter that is sent with the request.
  • itemName and sellerName must be wide strings. A plain Lua string raises an Invalid Parameters error.
  • The function needs at least twelve arguments and only reads the last twelve.

Errors

None besides the generic Invalid Parameters message when an argument has the wrong type.

Example

The stock UI fills a query table and passes its fields in order, from default/ea_auctionhousewindow/source/auctionwindowlistdatamanager.lua:

function AuctionWindowListDataManager.SendAuctionSearch( queryData )
    SendAuctionSearch( queryData.minItemLevel,
                       queryData.maxItemLevel,
                       queryData.career,
                       queryData.restrictionType,
                       queryData.minTradeSkillLevel,
                       queryData.maxTradeSkillLevel,
                       queryData.rarity,

                       queryData.itemTypes,
                       queryData.itemEquipSlots,
                       queryData.itemBonuses,

                       queryData.itemName,
                       queryData.sellerName
                     )
end

Listing the player's own auctions, from the same file:

function AuctionWindowListDataManager.SendPlayersAuctionSearch()
    local queryData = AuctionWindowListDataManager.CreateEmptyQuery()
    queryData.sellerName = GameData.Player.name
    AuctionWindowListDataManager.SendAuctionSearch( queryData )
end
