Manticore

Supposedly bred by the Dark Elves in the mountains of Naggaroth, Manticores are creatures with the body of a lion, huge, leathery bat wings and a barbed tail, dripping with poison. Their faces sometimes resemble bestial parodies of humanoid features, and they have a basic command of language.

Dark Elf Beastmasters are often seen astride the backs of Manticores, lending credence to the rumors that the creature's unique appearance and unquenchable bloodlust may be the result of dark practices among the cruel Beastmasters. Regardless of their origin, Manticores are relentless hunters that savor the pain and suffering of their prey. Manticores prefer their meals alive, and will go out of their way to terrify that which they stalk with their horrible cries before swooping down and slowly killing them.
