Base Attribute Caps
There are two caps to the Base Attributes: soft and hard.

The soft cap is calculated by

soft-cap = (level * 25) + 50

and equals 1050 for level 40 characters. Attribute gains beyond the soft cap are reduced by half. Meaning that you need to invest 2 attribute points to effectively gain 1 attribute points. For example if you want to increase an attribute from 1050 to 1100 you need to gain 100 attribute points.

The hard-cap is calculated by

hard cap = (level * 50) + (level * 10 + 50)

and equals 1650 for level 40 characters. Attribute gains beyond the hard cap do not have any effect for player characters.

Offensive Attributes
The Base Attributes contain three Primary Offensive Attributes (Strength, Intelligence, Ballistic Skill). Primary Offensive Attributes have two purposes
* Increase damage of associated abilites and auto attacks
* Decrease chance of the defender to defend (Parry, Disrupt, Dodge) against an attack

The increase in damage can vary dramatically depending on the type of the ability. For direct damage abilities there is a rule of the thumb:

A general rule of thumb for Melee (When below the soft-cap) is: 1 Weapon DPS = 5 Strength = 5 Melee Power.

Damage Increase = Offensive Attribute Increase / 5 * Cast Time

For instant abilities the
Cast Time
is often 1.5

Defensive Attributes
The Primary Offensive Attributes are opposed by Defensive Attributes (Weapon Skill, Willpower, Initiative) in the calculation of the base defense chance:

Base Defense Chance = Defender Defensive Stat / Attacker Offensive Stat * 7.5 %

The base defense chance is negligible under most circimstances as the Attacker Offensive Stat is much larger than the Defender Defensive Stat. An exception are some pure healer classes that use offensive abilities such as Archmage and Shamans. The Figure shows the Base Defense Chance as a function of the Defenders Defensive Stat for three attackers with 200, 700 and 1050 Offensive Stat. Most dedicated damage classes have offensive stats in the region of 1000. Defensive Stats rarely exceed 600 or 700 in case of Weapon Skill and Willpower. Thus resulting in Base Defensive Chances below 5 %.

Initiative and Chance To Be Critically Hit
Initiative is a defensive stat that opposes physical ranged attacks (Ballistic Skill) and as a secondary effect defines the characters base chance to be critically by enemies. It is calculated by

Base Chance To Be Critically Hit = (7.5 * Attacker Level + 50) /(Defender Initiative + 35) * 10 %

therefore a level 40 character has a 100 % chance to be critically hit at 0 Initiative. This is a theoretical value as the strongest Initiative debuff is currently at 120 and the lowest Initiative Base Value is 123.

Due to the strong non-linearity of the function there are very steep diminishing returns beyond 300 Initiative.

If one considers to reduce their chance to be critically hit by investing renown points into Initiative or Futile Strikes: There are almost no secenarios in which points spent on Initiative is more valueable than points in Futile Strikes.

The Necropolis of Zandri is only available for level 40 players when there's an ongoing expedition. 15 minutes before an expedition starts players can sign up at the Expedition Quartermaster.

Spots in the expedition are limited, and the players that have collected the most Expedition Resources from RvR during the week will have priority. Expedition Resources are bound to account + realm.

If you leave land of the dead or crash, you will keep a reservation for 5 minutes, if you don't get back in that time someone else in queue will get your spot.

RvR system
On Return of Reckoning the Necropolis of Zandri is no longer a zone full of PQs. Instead it is a RvR zone where both factions fight each other, but the tomb kings are also fighting back as a faction of their own.

First faction that reaches 4000 victory points will win the expedition. Killing a player gives one victory point, and each objective connected to your base gives six victory points every two minutes. The Temple of Ualatp and Reflecting Pool objectives give double points, twelve points every two minutes. The timer is reset when an objective is captured, so you must control the objective for at least two minutes to gain any points from it.

When the expedition starts all objectives are owned and guarded by the Tomb Kings. To capture an objective all guards and enemy players near the objective need to be killed first.

Patrols
The tomb kings will fight back against the invaders. As the battle progresses more and tougher patrols will spawn and roam the zone. When these reach an objective they will start reclaiming it for the tomb kings.

Guild Claims
Objectives can be claimed by guilds by planting a guild banner at them. This costs 10 Silver Scarabs. Guild members can then buy upgrades for the objective by clicking the banner.

Owning an objective gives all guild members +5% renown and loot drop chance in the zone, and another 5% near the objective. But the bonus is only active as long as the objective is connected to your base.

Mirrors

First faction that reaches 3000 victory points will win the expedition. Killing a player gives one victory point, and each objective connected to your base gives four victory points every two minutes. The Temple of Ualatp and Reflecting Pool objectives give double poins, eight points every two minutes.

Mirrors
At each warcamp there's two mirrors that can be used for 1 Silver Scarab:

* The Mirror of Infinity: With this mirror you can teleport to any connected and uncontested objective your realm owns.

* The Mirror of Eternity: With this mirror you can teleport to the eternal sands of Nehekhara.

Currency
* Silver Scarabs: This currency is used for buying upgrades for objectives and using mirrors to teleport from your base camp to other parts of the zone. After the expedition ends any unused Silver Scarabs are removed.

* Golden Scarabs: Drops from players and some NPCs in the zone. Used for purchasing gear.

* Golden Cartouche: Players on the winning faction receive one of these. Purchasing some gear requires this.

If you leave land of the dead or crash, you will keep a reservation for 10 minutes, if you don't get back in that time someone else in queue will get your spot.

RvR system
On Return of Reckoning the Necropolis of Zandri is no longer a zone full of PQs. Instead it is a RvR zone where both factions fight each other, but the tomb kings are also fighting back as a faction of their own.

First faction that reaches 2000 victory points will win the expedition. Killing a player gives one victory point, and each objective connected to your base gives two victory points every two minutes.

Mirrors
At each warcamp there's two mirrors that can be used for 5 Silver Scarabs:

The Necropolis of Zandri is only available for level 40 players when there's an ongoing expedition. 15 minutes before an expedition starts players can sign up at the Expedition Quartermaster.

RvR system
On Return of Reckoning the Necropolis of Zandri is no longer a zone full of PQ. Instead it is a RvR zone where both factions fight each other, but the tomb kings are also fighting back as a faction of their own.

First faction that reaches 2000 victory points will win the expedition. Killing a player gives one victory point, and each objective connected to your base gives two victory points every two minutes.

When the expedition starts all objectives are owned and guarded by the Tomb Kings. To capture an objective all guards and enemy players near the objective need to be killed first.

Quick Guide
The mechanic of this scenario is switched to rotating king of the hill. Same as in the Reikland Hills scenario. The fight starts at Logrin's Anvil, then one realm captures it the fight will move either to Logrin's Hammer or Logrin's Axe. Then you have to decide if you rush to the new objective or if you stay to defend the previous objective, which remains open for a short while.

Score Calculation
Every scenario has a different way to calculate the score for each Realm. In this SC:

* Kill = 3 points
* Holding an objective = 10 points every 5 seconds

General Strategy
* Start by rushing to the middle objective and contest it, or do your best to keep pressure. Capture it when possible.

* If your team has almost guaranteed mid objective, start heading to left or right objectives to instantly capture one of them.

* Always leave some people behind/on other objectives to secure them.
Archetypes Roles
* Tanks:
Keep guarding and switching guard. Keep contesting any attempts to capture an objective.

* Melee DPS:
Make sure you keep pressure on the objective point.

* Ranged DPS:
Nuke the enemy healers and focus on squishy targets. Increase your team's winning chance by decreasing the enemy numbers as fast as possible, starting with healers.

* Healers:
Make sure your team is keeping up to enemy pressure, keep key targets alive.

Best way to team up
Teaming up in Return of Reckoning is easy. You can ask for a group or advertise one using the Looking For Group channel. Simply type /5 in your chat and advertise your message.
You should aim for a 2-2-2, which translates to 2 tanks, 2 damage dealers and 2 healers before queueing.
Queueing with a team drastically increases your win rate and thus your rewards.

Miscellaneous
For dungeons in general it is advisable to have the addons Aggrometer and Buffhead.

A must have for tanks is the PvE tactic Menace.

In some encounters it can proof useful to up your video settings to be able to see all effects.

You can do this by pressing Escape -> User Settings -> Video -> Customize (performance) -> Effects -> Play Abilities effects on : All. (Effects System Detail setting wont affect the visibility).

Also make sure to Uncheck the DisableVFX box under Settings -> Server tab, otherwise no ground effect will be displayed.

Lockouts
* Lockout system has changed. Previously lockout on particular NPC prevented you from entering an instance with different ID than yours if you were not a leader, now you are able to enter different instance and help defeat the boss, but you will be automagically excluded from the loot roll. Also, if there are 3 or more people in your party with lockout on the particular boss nobody in party will be eligible for the loot roll.
* .lockout command was changed and expanded - it will now print in the chat all your current lockouts and all lockouts of your party members. In case of 3 people or more in your party with lockout for particular boss you will be informed that your party is not eligible for loot roll.
* Issue of people with one lockout not able to enter an instance should be resolved by above changes.

Recent Patch Changes
* You will now receive messages when entering an instance. (Additional messages when binding will also be shown incase any issues occur)

* You can now enter an instance before the group leader, however the instance state will still be restored from the group leader.

* You group will be soft bound to an instance when a player first enters. You can do /partyresetinstance to clear this (if you want to switch leaders for example and progress from the other players).

* You will be bound to the new instance when you kill your first boss (if you had previously changed instance/group).

* You will be bound to a new instance if you progress further in your new instance than your last instance.

* Logging back into your character in an instance will now put you back into the instance and instance group.

* Logging back into an instance after a server restart will start the instance from its saved state.

* Being kicked out of a group while in a Dungeon will return you to the entry point.

* You should no longer be able to join an instance and have more than 6 players.

* Logging into the game when you were in a Dungeon or Scenario which no longer exists will now properly teleport you to the point before you entered, or if failing that your bind point. ( Before you would experience some green screens and be teleported to the city)

List of Class Morale Pumps and Morale Drains in Return of Reckoning.

_

With Patch 10/06/2020 (link) a soft cap was introduced.

A soft cap on morale damage has been added. It functions as a meter that increases for each point of morale damage you take, and decays by 500 points per second. If the meter hits 2400, you will start mitigating 50% of all morale damage you take after that. As long as your meter is above 2400 you will get a buff called "Resolute".

The reasons for this change is that there has been an increased meta around coordinated AoE morale dumps in larger scale fights, which makes wounds the only defensive stat that really matters. Our hope is that this brings more diversity into tactics employed, while still keeping morale damage abilities as a powerful tool.

Currently, all Morale abilities has 60s cooldown, using one resets your Morale bar but do not reset cooldown.

Morale Buffs and Debuffs do not stack with abilities or item procs, but do stack with tactics.
Example: Runepriest tactic Concussive Runes which reduces armor on ability Rune of Cleaving does stack with armor reduction from Tank Class morale Demolishing Strike.
